PdfParse vs ParseExtract

ParseExtract is a prepaid OCR and extraction API priced by pages and tokens. PdfParse turns whole multi-page PDFs into reviewed rows in your tables, with inboxes, splitting, routing, and exports included.

20 free pages. No credit card required.

Choose PdfParse when

  • Your documents run longer than one page.
  • You want results saved in tables, not files you download per request.
  • Documents arrive by email and need routing and review.
  • You want Zapier, webhooks, or an MCP server.

ParseExtract may fit when

  • You need cheap OCR text or table CSVs at high volume.
  • Your documents are single pages, and you're happy calling an API.
  • You prefer prepaid credits that never expire.

The short version

Whole documents, saved as rows, with the workflow built in.

01

Whole documents, not first pages

ParseExtract's documentation says data extraction handles one page per request, and multi-page files process only the first page. PdfParse extracts across every page, so a six-page invoice's line items land in one linked table.

02

Results that persist

ParseExtract returns JSON, or CSV and Excel files encoded as base64, for each request, and long jobs are polled by ID. PdfParse saves rows in project tables you can review, query with SQL, export, or download as SQLite.

03

A workflow, not just an endpoint

We found no email intake, splitting, routing, or review step in ParseExtract's documentation. PdfParse includes all four on every plan, so documents can go from inbox to reviewed rows without code.

04

Integrations included

ParseExtract documents a REST API with Python examples. PdfParse adds a TypeScript SDK, signed webhooks, Zapier triggers, and a remote MCP server for AI agents.
